JAMMU, Sept 15: Member Legislative Council (MLC), Ch. Vikram Randhawa today started renovation work of a community hall at village Mulle Chak, Suchetgarh near here.
Speaking on the occasion the MLC said, the community hall was constructed way back and was never renovated following which it became dilapidated.
He said that it was the long pending demand of the locals which was brought to him few months back. Randhawa said, concerned authorities were directed to prepare a detailed report for the renovation of the community hall and Rs 5 lakh out of his Constituency Development Fund were released for the renovation.
He said as the people in border areas cannot afford to book banquets for their functions, such community halls help them.
He directed the executing authorities to complete the renovation work within shortest possible time with quality work.
Basant Singh, Dev Raj, Faqeer Chand, Surinder Singh Chib, Krishan Singh Chib, Baldev Singh and Prem Singh were also present on the occasion.
