MLC, VC CUJ, students call on Governor

JAMMU, Apr 22:  Surender Ambardar, Member of the State Legislative Council, met N. N. Vohra, Governor, at Raj Bhavan here today.
Mr. Ambardar raised several issues relating to the implementation of the Prime Minister’s Rehabilitation Package for Kashmiri migrants and effective protection of the properties left behind by them in the Valley.
Prof. Ashok Aima, Vice Chancellor, Central University of Jammu also called on Mr Vohra.
During the meeting Prof. Aima briefed the Governor, who is Chancellor of the Central University of Jammu, about various matters relating to the development of the University.
Prof. Aima also informed the Governor about the to-date status of construction of the new campus of the Central University, at Raya Suchani in Samba district; recruitment of faculty and about certain issues relating to the administrative and academic functioning.
Meanwhile, a Group of Students under the banner “Save the Trikuta Mountains Awareness Campaign Series”, led by Kiran Kumar Sharma, met Governor.
During the meeting, the Group apprised the Governor about its continuing campaign to clean up the tracks to the Shrine by making the shopkeepers and the pilgrims aware about the ill effects of polythene and uncontrolled littering. The Group also apprised the Governor about its other activities, like Rehan Basera, Beti Padhao Beti Bachao etc.
Assuring support, the Governor advised the Group to continue its good work on all fronts.
