NOWSHERA, May 4: PCC general secretary Ravinder Sharma (MLC) has urged the Local Bodies for carrying out urgent repair of Municipal Committee property at Bus Stand Nowshera and taking over of community hall at Sunderbani so that it could be put to public use.
Mr Sharma who inspected these buildings during his tour found that the community hall at Sunderbani constructed at the cost of Rs 25 lakhs in 1997 has not been even taken over by the department. He asked the department to settle the matter with the owner of the land and take over the same for public use. He pointed out that Municipal Committee properties worth crores at Nowshera is in use of commercial and offices purpose on rent basis but the property is in bad shape and going unsafe in the absence of any repair work. A public library in the same complex is also in bad shape and nearly 4000 books are lying there. He sought the attention of Local Bodies towards this issue.
