JAMMU, Oct 1: Bus Stand Police arrested a snatcher within 24 hours.
As per police sources, a complaint was lodged today by a man namely Nazir Ahmed, son of Ahmed Din of Badhar, Tehsil Mahore District Reasi with Police Station Bus Stand stating that an unknown auto driver along with another unknown person in an auto rickshaw bearing registration number JK02BB-5974 restrained his way and later snatched his mobile phone.
Acting over the complaint, a case under FIR Number 63/2021 under Sections 341 and 382 IPC was registered at Police Station Bus Stand and investigation started.
During the course of investigation, a team from Police Station Bus Stand led by SHO Inspector Deepankar Singh under the supervision of SDPO City Sharad Kalu and SP City Mohita Sharma put in hectic efforts and finally nabbed the mobile snatcher within 24 hours.
The accused has been identified as Umesh Sawhney, son of Sunil Kumar of District Rajouri, at present Gurha Bakshi Nagar District Jammu.
Further questioning of the accused is going on to ascertain his involvement in other theft cases.
