JAMMU, Sept 13: Police in Miran Sahib area claimed here today that they have arrested a mobile snatcher and recovered a stolen phone from his possession.
A police spokesperson said that a written complaint was lodged at Police Station Miran Sahib regarding mobile snatching incident on Tuesday.
On this, he said, a case FIR number 139/2023 under Sections 382 of the IPC was registered at Police Station Miran Sahib and investigation started.
During investigation, he further said that a team of Police Station Miran Sahib led by SDPO RS Pura Nikhil Gogna assisted by SHO Miran Sahib, Inspector Bopinder Singh rounded up a suspect with the help of human and technical inputs.
The suspect, identified as Rohit Verma of Krishna Nagar, Miran Sahib, admitted to his involvement in the mobile snatching incident and on his disclosure, the stolen mobile phone was recovered from his possession, he said.
Further investigation is underway in the case.
