Mock drill at Sopore ahead of Kashmir train service

SRINAGAR, Jan 2: The police, in collaboration with the Army, Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF), Railway Protection Force (RPF), and the Fire & Emergency Services, conducted a mock drill at the Amargarh Railway Station in Sopore today to evaluate emergency preparedness ahead of the launch of direct train services between Delhi and Kashmir.
A police spokesperson said that the drill was specifically designed to train personnel to respond swiftly to potential emergencies, particularly those of a terrorist nature, ensuring a quick and coordinated response. “The exercise also focused on assessing the effectiveness of security measures, response times, and identifying areas for improvement,” the spokesperson said.

Superintendent of Police Sopore, Divya D., oversaw the drill and commended the security forces for their efforts to enhance emergency response capabilities. “This mock drill is part of ongoing efforts by the J&K Police to strengthen public safety and security, ensuring that forces are well-prepared to handle any situation effectively,” Divya said.
