Moderate earthquake rocks Kashmir

SRINAGAR : An earthquake of 5.3 magnitude on Richter scale rocked Kashmir valley, including summer capital, Srinagar, forcing people rush out of their houses in panic in the wee hours this morning.
A Met department spokesman said that tremors, which were felt at 0329 hrs, lasted for about ten seconds. He said the epicentre of the quake was somewhere in Pakistan region.
Officials said people rushed out of their houses in panic despite 0.6 degrees temperature.
There was no report of any loss of life or damage to property so far, they said.
