SRINAGAR, June 10: Moderate Hurriyat’s announcement to participate in the dialogue process is a positive step and will strengthen the peace the process in the State.
This was stated by former Minister and member AICC Abdul Gani Vakil while addressing a public meeting at Muzbugh, Sopore here today.
He urged the hardline faction of Hurriyat to shun its rigidity and work together with the mainstream parties so as to make the dialogue process with Pakistan a success as it will open a window of opportunity to bring durable peace in the region.
“Congress is ready to play its role in solving the problems and contributing for the development of the State”, he said, adding that by confrontation and violence nothing could be achieved.
Vakil urged Chief Minister to fulfill his commitment of absorbing 50,000 youth in different Government Departments.
Among others who addressed the gathering were senior Congress leaders including Ghulam Nabi Shah, Mohammad Afzal Khan, Pandit Brij Nath Nehru and Assembly President Sangrama Sheikh Manzoor Ahmad.
