JAMMU : Union Minister and Congress candidate from Udhampur-Doda Parliamentary Constituency, Ghulam Nabi Azad today said Narendra Modi is an active ‘pracharak’ of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, which is directly controlling the affairs of Bharatiya Janata Party.
“Modi was and is active ‘pracharak’ of RSS and the major decisions in BJP will be taken by the RSS cadre but not the BJP stalwarts,” Mr Azad told a national news channel here this evening.
The Union Minister was here in the town ahead of tomorrow’s polling of votes.
“It is open now that RSS has direct control over BJP,” he said adding, “This time not the BJP but RSS contested the Lok Sabha elections.”
Congress was blamed for many reasons and even the religious sentiments were involved by the BJP during election campaigning, he said, adding that BJP speaks blatant lies and now whatever be the decision of the RSS in future, has to be accepted by the BJP.
“Not only the number 2 or number 3 positions but also the portfolios will be decided by the RSS leadership,” he said. Mr Azad however, termed former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee as ‘liberal’ and added that RSS failed to dictate terms to him (Vajpayee) but has direct control over Modi-who is their active ‘pracharak’.
“Active ‘pracharak’ of RSS is not good for the country,” he said, adding that India has composite cultures and religions, which is the strength of the nation.
Former J&K Chief Minister also blamed BJP for sidelining liberal leadership and backing the hardcore cadre in the party. (AGENCIES)
