SAC decisions outcome of party’s efforts: Jugal

JAMMU, Sept 27: Maintain-ing that Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has always shown concern for the welfare of the people of all three regions of the J&K State, MP from Jammu-Poonch parliamentary Constituency and senior party leader, Jugal Kishore Sharma today said the various decisions taken by State Administrative Council (SAC) yesterday are the outcome of the relentless efforts of the party which pursued these issues both before Central and State governments from time to time.

Talking to reporters here, along with Party’s State vice president, Harinder Gupta, State general secretaries, Dr. Narinder Singh and Yudhvir Sethi and State spokespersons Brig (retd) Anil Gupta and Balbir Ram Rattan, Jugal gave full credit to his party for these pro people decisions aimed at welfare of the people of all the three regions of the State.
While highlighting various decisions taken by State Administrative Council (SAC) benefitting large sections of the people, he complimented the Central Government led by Narendra Modi for its concern for the people of Jammu and Kashmir in which the Government has readily agreed to bear the additional financial burden incurred upon the State due to these decisions. He said that the BJP MPs from Jammu, namely Dr. Jitendra Singh, Shamsher Singh Manhas and he continuously pursued the demands of SSA teachers, SPOs, West Pakistan Refugees (WPRs) and Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Councils (LAHDC) with the Union Government, particularly during their meetings with the Prime Minister and Union Home Minister.
Jugal appreciated the decision of granting 7th Pay Commission benefits to the agitating Sarv Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA) teachers w.e.f. September 2018, thus fulfilling their outstanding demand. He also complimented Teachers Joint Committee (TJC) for its decision to call off their agitation.
Jugal on behalf of the party also welcomed the decision to enhance remuneration of SPOs. Earlier, the SPOs were paid a meager amount of Rs. 3000, he said. However, immediately on forming BJP-led Government at the Centre, Union Home Ministry enhanced it to Rs. 6000 per month, he added.
He said SAC also enhanced the ex-gratia relief up to Rs. 30 lakh to families of martyred SPOs. The remuneration to SPOs has been rationalized to Rs. 6000 per month up to service of five years, 10 thousand for service between 6 to 14 years and 12 thousand for 15 years and above service.
Jugal said BJP has always been fighting for the rights of West Pak Refugees. He welcomed the decision of the Government to pay Rs 5.5 lakh compensation per family of WPR at par with PoJK and Chhamb displaced persons.
