JAMMU, July 23: Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) condemned Modi led Union Government for not allocating seats to Other Backward Classes (OBCs) students in Medical Institutions, both aided or unaided, throughout India.
In a press statement issued here today Suresh Kumar Dogra, Chairman OBC Department JKPCC castigated Union Government for violating 93rd Amendment Act 2005, clause-5 in Article-15(5) Constitution of India, enabling state to make special provision, by law, for protection of the rights of students from SC, ST and socially and educationally backward classes for their admission in all Central Government Educational institutions including aided or unaided, private educational institutions, except minority educational institutions enshrined under Article 30(1) Constitution of India.
He claimed that Sonia Gandhi, president All India Congress Committee had also written a letter to PM regarding it, but Modi led government is not ready to listen anything in favour underprivileged class of OBC.
Dogra further stated that the Government is also not fair with legal and constitutional rights by not permitting admissions for OBC students in the Medical courses in accordance with the Article 15(5) of the Constitution.
Condemning recent allocation of zero per cent Medical seats in All India quota out of 27 per cent reserved for OBC students, for pursuing Higher Education in Graduate and Post-graduate courses, Dogra said, “The way, Union Government has adopted, is killing the legal rights of the reserved categories. The category class people shall not forgive unjustified, unconstitutional, and illegal behaviour of Modi led centre government with them.”
