JAMMU, Sept 30: BJP senior leader and former MLA, Ashwani Sharma, said that during the past nine years, various development projects and schemes have been launched for bridging the gap between urban and rural areas and the farming community too has benefitted to a great extent.
Ashwani Sharma was talking to media person during his weekly public darbar at BJP Headquarter, Trikuta Nagar, here, today to listen to the grievances of the people and help them to get respite.
Former VC, SC, ST, OBC Development Corporation, Balbir Ram Rattan was also present on the occasion.
Ashwani Sharma said that the Modi Government has taken care of the need to provide good quality road connectivity to the rural areas. As the rural areas house maximum population of the farmers and they are dependent on their agricultural crops for livelihood, every effort has been made to help them in reducing financial burden. The former MLA said that the Government is providing subsidy to the farmers on fertilizers, seeds, insecticides and various farming equipments. An annual financial assistance of rupees six thousand under ‘PM Kissan Sammaan Nidhi’ is given to the farmers by Modi Government, he said.
Ashwani Sharma further said that the crops need timely water for irrigation and the Government should take effective steps for proper disilting and improvement of Ranbir Canal and its distributaries so that the agriculture fields get adequately irrigation during the cultivation time.
In the public darbar, the BJP leader was apprised of the grievances related to departments like Fisheries, Housing Board PDD, GREF besides construction of roads, lane and drains, regularization of SPOs etc.
All the issues were taken up with the concerned departments for early and proper disposal.
