In an exclusive Interview to Excelsior here on Sunday, Reddy said it was due to blunder of Congress which in its bid to please National Conference (NC) and Pakistan gave a large portion of undivided Maharaja’s State to Pakistan.

He said BJP Government is committed to retrieve the PoJK which is the integral part of India and country has passed a joint Parliamentary resolution in this regard in 1994.
“Had Congress not done a historical blunder, the PoJK would have been part of India today. We have kept 24 seats reserved in J&K Assembly for PoJK which reiterates national commitment to retrieve our territory from clutches of Pakistan,” he added.
Reddy, who exuded confidence that BJP will form the Government in J&K on its own, said the people of the UT have decided to give a massive mandate to the party in this election for the promotion of peace, prosperity and development.
“After abrogation of 370 a tremendous change is visible on ground level in J&K as peace has been restored and UT is fast on path of development and progress”, he added.
He said no strikes, terrorist attacks, bomb blasts and stone pelting is being reported from any part of the UT for last several years and this has been result of the polices of Modi Government. He said the Article 370 was a barrier in the development of the erstwhile State and with its abrogation the flood gates for development and progress were opened.
Reddy said during the three decades of turmoil, the tourism industry was at grinding halt in Kashmir. “Earlier we used to see that movies were being shot in Kashmir valley but during turmoil this was also stopped. But after the abrogation of Article 370 about 400 movies including Hindi pictures and animation pictures in different languages were shot in Kashmir valley. Besides, over two crore tourists visited Kashmir last year which reflects there is a big change in ground situation in Valley”, he added.
Reddy said earlier Pak flags were hoisted at Lal Chowk, Srinagar and Indian flag was disrespected. The situation has now changed for a better and besides Lal Chowk, the Indian flags are hoisted at residential houses and commercial complexes by people of Kashmir, he added.
Giving credit to PM Narendra Modi for all this, he said there is a headstrong Prime Minster in the country now who has guts to launch surgical strikes on terrorist camps in PoJK. Earlier, Congress Government was afraid of Pakistan and they did not want to annoy it, he added.
He said this is the reason that Congress is today also supporting National Conference (NC) manifesto which talks of holding dialogue with Pakistan, releasing terrorists and separatists and restoring cross border trade. Opposing dialogue with Pakistan, he said they have always betrayed India. They backstabbed India during Vajpayee Government when he took bus to Lahore. So we need not to trust them, he added.
Reddy said it was the result of strong leadership of Narendra Modi that Pakistan is isolated in the world today. No nation except China is with Pakistan. India succeeded in convincing the world that Pakistan is a terrorist country, he added.
He said the Pakistan has become bankrupt now and its people are facing starvation. The country goes with a begging bowl before the world seeking help, he added.
Reddy said during Congress rule world was supporting Pakistan and not India. Now situation is altogether different as India dictates terms instead of accepting monopoly of developed countries. This is the result of Modi’s policies, he added.
He said Modi is for peaceful J&K where people of all communities live in complete harmony like brothers. He cautioned people of J&K against the NC and PDP leaders, saying they have send their children abroad for good education and handed over guns and stones to the children of common masses. The school bags which should contain books and laptops were filled with stones but now this all has changed and there is complete transformation in J&K, he added.
Reddy, while criticising Congress said why did not party in last 70 years ever thought that there should be a Chief Minister from Jammu and why a Hindu can’t be CM of the State. They are talking about secularism what kind of secularism is this that in J&K there can’t be a Hindu CM? he asked.
He said the political parties mourned the killing of Hezbollah terrorist in Lebanon. They as well as the leaders of Congress did not talk over the killings of Hindus and atrocities committed on them in Bangladesh.
In response to a question that will BJP Government at Centre order probe into the mysterious death of founder president of Bharatiya Jana Sangh (BJS), he said the party in its poll manifesto has declared that it will issue a White Paper on all terrorist killings in J&K since 1947 which included the death of Dr Mookherjee also.
Reddy while unfolding the party’s vision for J&K said PM wants that new leadership should emerge in J&K and people should reject the dynastic parties who ruined the State over these years.
He said the BJP took the J&K on the path of development by establishing two AIIMSs, IIT, IIMs, IIMC, Jambu Zoo, expressway corridors, flyovers, National Highways, roads, eight Medical Colleges, rail link to Kashmir, constructed hundreds of bridges, provided safe drinking water and constructed three lakh houses of houseless families in the UT during last 10 years.
He, however, admitted that the local leadership of party could not take the development narrative to the people.
