Modi Govt concerned for women: Rekha

JAMMU, Mar 20: BJP Mahila Morcha Jammu district president, Rekha Mahajan today alleged that though Congress has ruled the country for decades but it never showed concern for the socio-economic upliftment of the women, whereas BJP Government under the leadership of PM, Narendra Modi felt their plight and pain and launched a number of welfare schemes for them.
Speaking at a meeting here in Ward 55, She said that in view of the forthcoming elections of Lok Sabha, opposition parties will be trying to win the faith of women folk but they would not succeed this time in view of their past record.
Rekha Mahajan said that Modi Government came to power in 2014, and since then, it has launched several schemes and initiatives for the benefit of women across the country.
Elaborating on the pro-women schemes of Narendra Modi Government, Rekha said that Beti Bachao Beti Padao is to prevent gender-biased sex-selective elimination and ensure the education, survival, and protection of the girl child. It also aimed at to celebrate the birth of girl child.
Sukanya Samridhi Yojana is also a part of Beti Bachao Beti Padao scheme, she said, adding that it encourages parents with girl child to set up a fund for them which will take care of her marriage and future education expenses.
Ujjwala scheme is the most successful scheme of the Modi Government. Under this scheme 70 million families were given free gas connections, after which the quality of life of the women has improved, Rekha said.

Mission Indradhanush scheme is aimed at to immunize all kids under the age of 2 years and also the pregnant women against diseases which can be prevented by taking timely vaccines.
Rekha said that these are few of such schemes which have brought smile on the faces of women and they want Narendra Modi to be repeated as Prime Minister.
Number of women also joined BJP Mahila Morcha on this occasion.
District general secretaries, Savita Anand, Indu Bala and Asha Gupta also spoke in the meeting.
