JAMMU, June 2: Gulam Ali Khatana, BJP MP Rajya Sabha, praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for ensuring lasting peace on the borders, leading to increased economic activities in the border areas.
He highlighted that cross-border firing is now a thing of the past, and people are living peacefully and prospering.
Speaking at an event commemorating 9 years of the Modi Government, held at the International border in Pargwal, Akhnoor, Gulam Ali emphasized the NDA Government’s focus on infrastructure development, economic prosperity, and serving the poorest of the poor.
He noted that under the BJP Government, the construction of a bridge worth over Rs 200 crore on the Chenab River in Pargwal became a reality after 70 years of independence. Gulam Ali credited Prime Minister Modi’s visionary leadership for the progress made in connectivity across the country.
Gulam Ali expressed gratitude for the opportunity to visit the land of warriors who have faced multiple migrations, including in 1947, 1965, 1971, and 1998, but have always returned to their ancestral land.
He acknowledged the hardships endured by the people of the border belt who have faced bullets from across the border, yet remained committed to their land.
The BJP MP emphasized the Government’s dedication to improving the lives of border dwellers and the poor. He mentioned the Ayushman Bharat scheme, which provides up to 5 lakh rupees worth of treatment in the best hospitals for the poor.
