Modi Govt failed to sanction Rly link, tunnel on Mughal road: Cong

JAMMU, May16: Congress today attacked the BJP for neglecting Rajouri- Poonch especially in connectivity, as it failed to sanction the Jammu – Poonch railway project and initiate the long awaited tunnel on Mughal road during ten years rule at the Centre.
The Railway project to Poonch was surveyed in 2012 at the cost of over 13000 cr besides the tunnel on Mughal road was proposed, to provide all weather alternate highway road from Jammu to Srinagar via Rajouri- Poonch but after ten years rule, these vital projects are no where.
Addressing series of meetings in Nowshera area of Anantnag-Rajouri Lok Sabha constituency today JKPCC senior vice resident and chief spokesperson Ravinder Sharma lashed out at BJP for neglecting these vital and strategic  rail and road links for ten years ignoring the most genuine needs of border population and the defence requirements in the sensitive border belt.
UPA Govt had initiated the move to lay Jammu Poonch Railway line and  a tunnel to give all weather road connectivity to Kashmir but these projects were abandoned by BJP Government.
Accompanied by senior party leaders of Nowshera constituency including Vijay Bakshi, Gourav Parasher, Mahatma Inder Dass, Shamsher Chand, Raj Kumar, Amit Sayal, Ravinder Chouhan, Dr Shesh Paul, BCC president Rajinder Singh, Chander Bakshi, Sub Badri, Sansar Chand, Isher Singh, Ch Sadiq, Ch Gulshaid and others.
Sharma interacted with people in Lamberi, Bagnoti, Nonial, Lam, Kampla, Pukherni, Laroka, Jhangar areas of Nowshera. He asked people to vote for coalition candidate Mian Altaf and ensure his win from this Lok Sabha seat.
