JAMMU, Jan 19: Congress today targeted the BJP-led Central Govt over growing unemployment in the country asking BJP to clear its stand over the 2.5 crore jobs promises made with the people of the country during the last Parliamentary polls.
Addressing the convention as a part of Yuva Kranti Yatra, Keshav Chand Yadav, IYC National president said that BJP-led NDA Government failed to fulfill its promise of providing two crore jobs every year to the youth of our country.
During the 2014 elections, PM Modi had promised of ‘Acche Din’ (good days), which included (providing) two crore jobs every year. In five years, this sums up to 10 crore (jobs). He also alleged that the Modi Government has failed to understand that distress in society and smooth functioning of economy do not go hand in hand.
It is pertinent to mention here that Yuva Kranti Yatra is being organised under the leadership of IYC National president KC Yadav and National vice president IYC, Srinivas B V, reached J&K on January 18, 2019. On Saturday morning, the Yatra reached Srinagar where in the youth convention was organised and the issues related to the youth were discussed threadbare.
“Prime Minister Narendra Modi had assured that if elected to power his Government would create two crore jobs annually but the Centre had miserably failed in ensuring job during its three-and-half-year tenure. Following the failure of the Union Government, youths of the country were suffering. Modi Government by making false promises had only cheated the unemployed youth,” Srinivas added.
Accusing BJP of bartering away the pride and honour of people of Jammu region to satisfy its lust for power, Mula Ram, former minister and senior Congress leader appealed to Jammuites to expose and depose the BJP’s juggernaut for its sheer opportunism.
Raman Bhalla, former minister and senior Congress leader, said that the wrong policies of BJP has plunged the State into unprecedented crisis. He said that BJP used emotive slogans to exploit the sentiments of the people.
Vikram Singh, DCC president, Jammu Urban, Hari Singh DCC -Jammu Rural chief and Shah Nawaz Choudhary, PCC general secretary criticised the BJP for misguiding people in various parts of the country for gaining power. Uday Chib, PYC president, said that youth are the most affected due to the hollow policies of BJP Government at the Centre. “Instead of providing jobs the BJP leaders are playing with the sentiments and future of unemployed youth of J&K State and minting money by selling government jobs,” he added.
Youth leaders Pankaj Basotra, Sahil Sharma, Ajaz Chaudhary , Mudasser Ahmed, Ranjeet Chopra, Nimrandeep Singh, Amir Banday, Firdous Mingno and others also accompanied.
