Development works worth several crores inaugurated

KATHUA, July 1: Col (retd) Mahan Singh, DDC Chairman Kathua asserted that the BJP Government led by Prime Minister, Narendra Modi has been focusing on rural growth and infrastructure development by giving impetus to rural development.
The DDC Chairman was speaking after inaugurating Palak Dhamlad JJM Project worth Rs 8.10 crore here on Saturday.
Col Mahan said that this project will come as a blessing for the people as it will ensure potable water for more than 5000 people living in villages including Neyali, Velly, Dhamlad, Palak, Raipur, Kutheda, Nowshera, etc in Mahanpur block of Kathua. He informed that the development scheme comprises two bore wells, two OHT 20000 gallons each, two GSR 20000 gallons, one sump tank of 30000 gallons capacity, around 55 Km water supply pipe of various sizes. “Project will be implemented in next six months”, he maintained, adding that the development carried out under the Modi regime is unprecedented and of the best quality as no compromise is being allowed on quality and time required for the completion of development projects.
Col Mahan said that infrastructure and rural development are the key areas of focus as the Modi Government is taking all out measures for holistic progress of far-off hamlets with assurance of people getting all the benefits which their counterparts in urban areas avail.
Others present during the inauguration of the project include Tajinder Goldy, DDC Mahanpur, Sarpanch, Dhamlad Sher Singh and several prominent persons besides a large number of local residents.
Later Col Mahan Singh along with Tajinder Goldy, DDC Members Mahanpur, Sarpanch Chunera Darshan Kohli, Nambardar Chunera Des Raj and Charanjit Sharma kick started work of six KMs long Suenta to Chunera PMGSY road which will be black topped at the cost of Rs 66 lakh by PMGSY Sub Division Basohli.
In another development, Col Mahan Singh, initiated the maintenance work of the six-kilometer-long Suenta to Chunera road under the PMGSY. The road, originally constructed five years ago, was in need of repair, fulfilling the longstanding demands of residents from Chunera, Planu, Simiti, Chunera, Nandi, and other nearby villages.
Col Mahan Singh said that the project, costing Rs 66 lakh, is being undertaken by the PMGSY Sub Division Basohli.
He said this initiative demonstrates the Government’s commitment to maintaining and improving rural infrastructure to enhance the connectivity and convenience of rural communities.
