JAMMU, Aug 17: As a part of fortnight celebrations on the first anniversary of abrogation of Article 370 in J&K, BJP Jammu East, Mandal organised “Dughda Abhishek” (cleanliness drive) of statue of Sher-e-Duggar, Pt. Prem Nath Dogra at Dogra Chowk Jammu.
The cleanliness drive was led by J&K BJP vice president, Yudhvir Sethi, general secretary & Ex-MLC Vibodh Gupta, district president, Vinay Gupta, district general secretary, Kuldeep Khandari and president BJP East Mandal, Parveen Kerni and Sports Cell convenor, Sunil Dogra.
Yudhvir Sethi, while paying tributes to the legendry Dogra leader, said that Pt Prem Nath Dogra was the first leader from J&K who raised voice against Article 370 and struggled to ensure total integration of the State with rest of the country after the Maharaja was forced to live in exile and State’s administration was taken over by Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah who harboured different ideas. He said that Modi Government by abrogating Article 370 has fulfilled the dream of Pt. Prem Nath Dogra.
Adv. Vibodh Gupta said that Pt. Prem Nath Dogra was the torchbearer of the voice of common and nationalist people in the State who always stood like a rock against the Kashmir-centric and separatist tendencies and worked to unite the people agitating for full integration of the State with the rest of the country.
Vinay Gupta said that Pt. Prem Nath Dogra was a great patriot and had unflinching faith in the country’s unity and was opposed to any kind of division or extra treatment to Kashmir. The real tribute to Pt. Prem Nath Dogra would be to stoutly deal with elements endangering peace and integrity of the country.
Parveen Kerni, while presenting vote of thanks, highlighted the contribution of Pt Dogra in the Jammu and Kashmir.
