‘New Tourism Project for 7 lakes on Pir Panjal soon’

JAMMU, June 9: While assuring the people of Pir Panjal region that a new Tourism Project for seven lakes on picturesque Pir Panjal Ranges near Pir Ki Gali will come up soon, Union Minister of Law and Justice, Arjun Ram Meghwal today said that Modi Government intends to take J&K to the newer heights and new levels of prosperity.
Meghwal made these remarks while addressing public gatherings during his visit to border district Rajouri today. He said that with the new Tourism project for the Pir Panjal Lakes, large number of tourists would visit the area and it may increase the economy of the region and provide employment opportunities to the local people.
” The matter will be taken up with the concerned Union Minister and a DPR will be prepared by sending a team of officers there. Since the area is said to be far- flung and tough mountainous, it can be connected through ropeway project,” Meghwal opined.
The Union Minister further assured that the work on the tunnel which is popular demand of the people of this region will also be commenced shortly. He said the matter will be taken up with Gadkari in this regard. It will ensure all weather road connectivity to Kashmir from Pir Panjal region, he added.
Projecting remarkable progress achieved under various Government Schemes during nine years of Prime Minister, Narendra Modi’s Government, the Minister said that the Government’s renewed focus on taking the nation to new dimensions of growth and development under the leadership of Narendra Modi has significantly improved implementation of schemes across the region.
He said the Central Government has taken a slew of measures for the allround development of the J&K UT and inclusive, holistic and substantial development of Jammu and Kashmir UT is the major goal of the Union Government and much emphasis is being laid to push every sector to take the UT to newer heights and new levels of prosperity.
Reiterating the Centre’s commitment, its strong resolve and special concern for the overall development of J&K UT, he said that numerous initiatives are being taken by the Modi Government to bring transformation in every sector, and take J&K towards a golden future.
Commending the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Gramin (PMAY-G) Scheme for its exceptional achievements, Meghwal acknowledged that previously, the scheme’s progress was sluggish, but with the Government’s increased funding and a strict timeline for completion, houses are now being constructed at an unprecedented pace.
Leveraging advanced technologies such as geo-tagging, the scheme ensures transparency and accountability in allocation of houses while the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) mode facilitates seamless and corruption free fund transfers. This remarkable progress reflects Government’s commitment towards “9 Saal, Bemisaal” development, he maintained.
Union Minister referred to Swachh Bharat Mission (SBM), declaring that a staggering 11 crore toilets have been successfully constructed across the country after the campaign was launched. This monumental achievement is a testament to the Government’s unwavering dedication towards creating a clean and hygienic India, he asserted.
Talking to reporters, the Minister highlighted the significant strides made under Ayushman Bharat Scheme and other crucial projects undertaken nationwide. “The Ayushman Bharat scheme has revolutionised healthcare accessibility by providing financial protection and quality medical services to millions of Indians,” he added.
While responding to questions raised by the media, he reaffirmed the Government’s commitment towards rapid development, inclusive growth and welfare for all citizens.
During beneficiary Samelan at Rajdhani in Thannamandi, Meghwal interacted with the beneficiaries, and received feedback about the implementation of these schemes including Ayushmaan Bharat, PMAY, SBM, PMGKAY, PM KISAN, JJM and others.
Highlighting benefits of DBT, The Union Minister reiterated that the facility has changed the lives of the public by ensuring that the benefits of Government schemes reach the intended beneficiaries directly.
Meghwal emphasized that the Central Government is working on the concept of “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas” which reflects the Government’s commitment to inclusive and equitable development, where every citizen of the country has equal access to opportunities and benefits.
The Minister also said that the Union Government has launched a number of schemes and programs for the welfare of the general public. He also said that a number of development projects have been completed and several are underway in the UT of Jammu and Kashmir.
He also interacted with the locals and listened to their issues and concerns. He assured them that their problems would be addressed on priority basis and directed the concerned officials to take necessary action.
While taking note of the issue of upgradation of PHC Thannamandi raised by the public, the Minister assured that he will take up the matter with the Health Ministry.
On the occasion, different departments had installed their stalls at the venue exhibiting their schemes and programs.
