‘2024 budget to lay strong foundation for ‘Viksit Bharat’

JAMMU, July 27: Maintaining that peace is imperative for development in any part of the country, Union Minister of Law & Justice, and Minister of State incharge Parliamentary Affairs, Arjun Ram Meghwal today said Modi Government is working hard in restoring peace in Jammu region where there was a spurt in terrorism incidents during last some months.

The Union Minister who was on a day’s visit of Jammu to set a positive narrative on the salient features of budget 2024-25 while talking to reporters here today, said Modi Government is working hard so that the terrorism related incidents are minimized and peace is restored in the region as without peace no development is possible.
In response to a question on implementation of Uniform Civil Code (UCC) in the country, Meghwal said “UCC has already been implemented in Goa. As soon as the report of Law Commission of India comes, it will be implemented in the entire country,”.

Terming the 2024-25 budget presented by Union Minister, Nirmala Sitharaman in Parliament recently as development oriented budget, Meghwal said it has laid a strong foundation for ‘Viksit Bharat 2047′, (developed India)- which is the vision of Prime Minister, Narendra Modi. He said that this Union Budget 2024-25 shows the right direction to progress in the infrastructure development all over the country.
Ravinder Raina, president J&K BJP, Jugal Kishore Sharma, MP (Lok Sabha), and Sunil Sethi, chief spokesperson of the party were present in the media interaction.
Meghwal, said that infrastructure projects are in progress everywhere in Jammu and funds have been granted to maintain this continuity in infrastructure development like Railways, all weather roads, highways, Marketing Development Funds (MDF )etc. “We have also laid the outlay to strengthen the security. The limit of Mudra loan to promote Micro Small & Medium Enterprises (MSME) has been increased from Rs 10 to 20 lakh”. A cluster for vegetables is laid and cultivation of medicinal plants will be promoted, handloom, handcrafts will be given main thrust, he added.
The Union Minister said natural farming has a lot of scope in Jammu and it will be harnessed.
“We have entered the era of 4.0 in the industries, so in this budget innovation, Research and Development (R&D) and ITI structure will be strengthened. Budget has all the provisions to strengthen and develop the Jammu & Kashmir,” said the Minister.
Meghwal said in this Budget, Government has focused on employment, skilling, MSMEs, and the middle class. He also spoke on the benefits of GST while answering a query.
The Minister further stressed that this budget has all the essential components to ensure the economic strengthening of the region and the local people, while emphasizing the perfect ingredients of various investments for the growth of the region.
He said the Archeological sites in Jammu will be given boost for promotion of tourism trade.
On Rahul Gandhi and other opposition parties’ criticism on the Budget, Meghwal accused them of creating false narratives to mislead the people.
Admitting that there is a mention of Bihar and Andhra Pradesh in this budget, he said does it mean that the other States have been neglected or they will not get the funds.
He said when UPA presented the budget during its tenure, there was no mention of Tamil Nadu. Did Tamil Nadu not get money for development during UPA rule, he asked?
“In this budget, Bihar and Andhra Pradesh were mentioned because they (Opposition) were trying to create a false narrative but they were unsuccessful. I come from Rajasthan and its name was not mentioned in the budget. Does that mean the State will not get money? When roads will expand, won’t they be expanded in Rajasthan?” asked the Union Minister.
Later, the Minister addressed a ‘Budget Pe Charcha’ programme organized by J&K BJP at the party Headquarters.
BJP JK UT president, Ravinder Raina, MP Jugal Kishore Sharma and All Cell Incharge Rakesh Mahajan were also on dais.
Hundreds of prominent persons belonging to Business, Industries, Trade, Lawyers, Doctors, and other classes actively participated in the two-way communication with the Minister on the budget. During the interactive session, Law Minister first elaborated the budget and then answered the queries put forth by the delegates. He also noted down all the suggestions brought up during the interaction.
