KATHUA, Dec 17: BJP MLA Jasrota constituency, Rajiv Jasrotia today said that construction of interior roads in rural pockets of J&K has emerged as a pivotal undertaking in uplifting the living standards of the people in villages. “These road projects not only enhance connectivity but also foster economic growth, social integration and access to essential services in remote areas,” said Jasrotia after inaugurating construction of link road from Hatli Manu road to Upper Rasooh under Capex Budget costing worth Rs 20 lakh in presence of ex Sarpanchs, Bhopinder Sharma, Dhyan Singh, Punjab Singh, Romesh Singh, Arjun Singh, Jaimal Singh, Balbir Singh, Bantu Singh, Arun, Jugal co-convenor Refugee Cell, Vidya Sagar.
Speaking on the occasion, Jasrotia said far-off and rural areas of J&K faced continued administrative neglect during the successive rule of Congress party and its allies-National Conference (NC). “They only pushed the rural masses to grave backwardness and never bothered to work for their socio-economic upliftment. MLA said that the process of identification of areas without road links has been initiated and work on such roads would be started soon. After hearing the demands of locals with regards to developmental needs, the MLA said that their demands would be addressed on priority. He said the Prime Minister-led Central Government’s development initiatives during the last ten years have brought about a transformative change in rural areas of Jammu and Kashmir.
Jasrotia assured the gathering that the he would continue to prioritize the enhancement of infrastructure and basic amenities in the region. He emphasized that the development of such vital road links is essential not only for economic growth but also for improving the quality of life for the residents of constituency. Hailing Union Government for sanctioning adequate funds under PMGSY and other schemes for construction of roads in J&K, Jasrotia said it is his mission to provide road connectivity to those areas of constituency which are still without road links. He said BJP Government’s development initiatives reflect PM Modi’s sincere commitment to end the decades-long discrimination against the Jammu region. Since assuming power, the Government has implemented various development schemes aimed at fostering growth, prosperity and inclusivity in rural communities,” he said.
