Modi happy over Kuno cheetahs entering big enclosure

SHEOPUR/BHOPAL, Nov 6:
Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed satisfaction on Sunday over the release of two of eight Namibian cheetahs into a larger enclosure within the Kuno National Park.
Great news! Am told that after the mandatory quarantine, two cheetahs have been released to a bigger enclosure for further adaptation to the Kuno habitat. Others will be released soon. I’m also glad to know that all cheetahs are healthy, active and adjusting well, Mr Modi wrote in social media.
On September 17 his birthday the Prime Minister released the carnivores into a special enclosure.
The release into the larger area took place late Saturday amid an atmosphere of uncertainty. Forest Department sources said that four more animals are to follow suit.
However, senior officers are being tight-lipped over the matter. Meanwhile, media reports said that state Forest Minister Vijay Shah is not amused over the fact that he was not informed. An attempt to speak with the Minister drew a blank as his cellular phone was switched off. (UNI)
