UDHAMPUR, Dec 16: Former Deputy Chief Minister and senior BJP leader, Kavinder Gupta has said that Prime Minister, Narendra Modi made the poor people repose their faith in country’s democratic system.
Addressing a DDC poll campaign meeting at Udhampur, Kavinder expressed pleasure over massive participation of people in DDC polls and claimed that this speaks about the success of BJP’s prolific policies in J&K for convincing the people in believing democratic principles and that is the reason that from 2 to 3 per cent voting in the past, Kashmir today witnessed impressive faith of people in power of ballot.
“Earlier for nearly 70 years under successive regimes there was very low participation of people in election processes,” Kavinder claimed.
He also said that since BJP came into power at Centre, people have shown faith in democracy.
“For all these decades altogether, successive regimes deprived the people of even basic amenities and made fake promises. While the BJP led Centre has launched several flagship schemes for the welfare of people, people have reaped benefits from the same,” he maintained adding that many public welfare schemes and developmental initiatives have been taken by the BJP led government have restored hope among the masses for a better tomorrow.
Since BJP came to power, Kavinder said, the people of Jammu and Kashmir have started dreaming for a better future again.
“The people who had lost hope under successive previous regimes have started dreaming big under BJP rule,” the BJP leader said.
Regarding the ongoing DDC elections wherein people are in huge numbers coming out to vote, he said the public is a better judge and people will teach a lesson to political parties which have deprived them for their own betterment.
“NC, PDP, NPP and other political parties have groomed corruption and left the UT of J&K to vultures when in power,” he said adding that BJP has ended decade-long discrimination with the people by repealing Article 370 paving way for development.
