Modi, Nadda, Shah, Jitendra among star campaigners for Punjab

JAMMU, May 16: Prime Minister Narendra Modi, BJP president JP Nadda, Home Minister Amit Shah, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and Union Minister of State in the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) Dr Jitendra Singh are among 40 star campaigners of the BJP for Parliamentary elections in Punjab whose list has been sent by the party to the Election Commission of India.

Dr Jitendra Singh, who contested elections from Udhampur-Doda Lok Sabha seat which he won in 2014 and 2019, is presently Incharge of fifth phase of polling in West Bengal and is camping in Kolkata for past one month for campaigning and other activities of the party.
After fifth phase of polling on May 20, Dr Jitendra Singh will shift to Punjab which will go to polls in seventh and final phase on June 1.
Punjab has 13 Lok Sabha seats.
Other star campaigners of the BJP for Punjab include UP Chief Minister Adityanath Yogi, Union Ministers Nitin Gadkari, Smriti Irani, Hardeep Singh Puri and Anurag Thakur, celebrities Hema Malini, Manoj Tewari and Ramkrishna; Vijay Rupani, Amarinder Singh, Nayab Singh Saini (Haryana Chief Minister), Manohar Lal Khattar, Sunil Jakhar, Tarun Chug (national general secretary Incharge J&K and Ladakh) and Narinder Singh, national secretary, who also hails from Jammu among others.
