JAMMU, Dec 16:  Targeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi for running ‘one-man Government’, All India Congress Committee vice president Rahul Gandhi today alleged that BJP Government is only for the industrialists and big business houses and not for the poor people of the country.
Addressing election rallies at Darhal in Rajouri and remote Bani town of district Kathua today, Mr Gandhi said that entire BJP led NDA Government is running on the whims and dictates of one man-Narendra Modi. “He is running the one man show and advising others how to run a democratic Government. He believes in the philosophy of  centralization of powers while Congress always preferred strengthening the grass root level democratic institutions up to Panchayat and ward level and decentralization of  powers,” Rahul said.
Describing the BJP Government at the Centre as well wisher of the capitalists only and not the common man, the top AICC leader said that Narendra Modi made tall claims of providing unlimited financial assistance/ help the flood victims of Jammu and Kashmir and while translating his words into action he just released funds to the tune of  Rs 1000 crore instead of Rs 44,000 package as assistance sought by the State Government for relief, damages  and rehabilitation works. Thousands of victims are still waiting for the help till today.
But on the other hand for showering favours on an industrialist, Modi Saheb released Rs 6000 crore as special help in the form of loan recently. It shows that Modi Government is meant only for industrialists and big business houses and not for the poor and down trodden people. He came to J&K during flood devastation in chopper,  offered lip sympathy to the victims, made hollow promises and escaped. But in turn, he did not transform his words into action. He must understand that he can not make people fool for longer.
Dismissing the claim of Narendra Modi and other top BJP leaders that no development was done in the J&K State in last 60 years, Mr Gandhi said UPA Government gave Rs 650 crore for the speedy construction of Mughal Road. It released more than 2000 crore for the Railway line, provided huge funds for the construction of country’s longest tunnel of 11 kms length  at Banihal connecting Valley and four-laning of National Highway between Jammu and Srinagar.  Not only this, UPA Government gave over Rs 24,000 crore special package for raising infrastructure  including, roads, hospitals, colleges etc. The people of this State are witness to the massive development which took place in the State when Congress led the regime. The works were executed in the double and triple shift and accountability and effective governance was in place.
Those who are in the habit of carrying castles in the air and exploiting people on the name of religion will try to thrive on the lies whereas, Congress believes in development, prosperity and peace. They (BJP)  have always talked of engineering communal divide while Congress always tried to strengthen the bonds of brotherhood and secularism. They have no development agenda and even they don’t talk of  it during election rallies. Their one point programme is to capture power by any means; rule and work as per the party plan and not for the welfare of the people.
Rahul further said that Modi ji during Parliamentary elections used to say to the public, “Achhe Din Aaney Wale Hein”. We will bring black money back from the foreign banks and each account holder of the country would get Rs 15 lakh. I ask people where are the good days ? Have you received Rs 15 lakh which Modi ji had promised?”
The people have now started realizing within six months that BJP made only hollow promises and slogans while the reality is something different. “Modi ji have brought good  days for the capitalists, the rich people and not the poor. The BJP leaders have now also started changing their statements on the blackmoney and other issues. They have also realized that Mission 44+ is also impossible and they have started taking U-turn on many issues. They are now being exposed before the public,” Rahul added.
Referring to the ceasefire violations and border firing issue, Rahul Gandhi said, during the UPA Government, Narendra Modi and top BJP leaders used to say,  “Pakistani Ko Karara Jabab Dengey, Aankh Se Aankh Mila ke Bat Karengey. For the last several months, massive Pak firing incidents took place, several innocent persons were killed in terror attacks and thousands turned homeless. Where are the claims of Modi Saheb and other BJP leaders? When the Prime Minister Modi was busy in bon-homie with the Chinese President, their Army was indulging in aggression in Ladakh region.  Was it justified for the Modi Saheb to shower great honour to the Chinese premier when his forces are indulging in intrusion. There is lot of difference between the words and deeds of this Prime Minister and the people have started knowing the facts, AICC leader maintained.
Firing a yet another salvo on the BJP led Government, Rahul said UPA brought Food Security Bill, Right to Information Act, Right to Education, MGNREGA for providing work to the poor, RGGVY, Mid Day Meal and several other schemes but Modi Government has started weakening the Schemes and laws enacted by the UPA Government. This Government is proving anti-poor and anti-common man.
Former Union Health Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad, AICC general secretary, Ambika Soni, PCC chief Prof Saif-ud-Din Soz and former Minister Pawan Bansal also addressed the gathering and sought public support for the Congress candidates from Darhal, Iqbal Malik and Rajneesh Sharma alias Mian from Bani constituency.
