JAMMU, July 28: Former minister and senior PCC leader Dr Manohar Lal Sharma has alleged that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s GST has proved as big failure.
While interacting with a number of delegations at his residence today Dr Sharma said that Modi’s GST has proved as big failure due to lack of proper planning and home work before its implementation. He said that its implementation without preparation is creating more problems for everyone including businessmen and daily consumers of the country.
Coming down heavily on BJP Government over the negative effects shown by GST instead of positive claimed before implementation on all most every sector in the growth, Sharma said that it badly effects in job generation and a large number of employees may lose their jobs in private sector and Government departments too, after its implementation. He said that the prices of almost all commodities have shown increasing trend.
PCC leader said that the State BJP-PDP Government and Modi’s Government expose his real face before people of nation as well as the State over his double standard over implementation of GST in Jammu and Kashmir by passing GST Act in Assembly in which BJP supported the strengthening of Article 370. He said that the BJP has endorsed double tax system by passing GST Act by amending Section 5 of sub Section 3 of J&K constitution.
He sought explanation from BJP that why the BJP Government is not withdrawing toll tax at Lakhanpur and other parts of State and closed down check posts. He said that the GST and demonetization destroyed the business and industry particularly local industry including industrialist and businessmen of country as well as State.
Congress leader said that the failure of the Government exposed the real face of BJP and its leadership before the public. He said that BJP made tall claims and raised hollow slogans but after coming to power, it surrendered itself completely at the hands of PDP to enjoy power.
