Excelsior Correspondent
JAMMU, June 11: BJP senior leader and former State president of the party, Ashok Khajuria today said had the erstwhile Congress Government taken such a tough and bold stance against the terrorism and separatism in Kashmir during their rule as taken by Narendra Modi led Government at Centre, the Kashmir Valley would have been since freed from clutches of terrorism.
In a statement issued here, he said the terrorists in Kashmir as well as Pakistan are feeling the heat of security forces and they are on run as they are being chased by security forces to finish. He said the Government has made remarkable achievements in Kashmir so far as elimination of dreaded terrorists is concerned and the credit for this goes to solid and concrete policy framed by the Narendra Modi Government which did not make any compromise with the separatists and pursued the policy of chasing the ultras to finish.
Khajuria said this policy under the dynamic leadership of Narendra Modi has yielded fruit and 14 militants have been eliminated in Valley during last three days which included some dreaded terrorists also. The BJP leader exuded confidence that soon terror would be eliminated from the Valley and there will be a discernible change in the situation in Kashmir. The people of the Valley belonging to all communities who suffered a lot will heave a sigh of relief with the return of complete peace and restoration pre 1989 situation in Valley.
Khajuria said after feeling the heat of security forces the terrorist groups are in desperation and they may try to target the innocent people to boost the sagging morale of their outfits. Keeping this in mind he made and appeal to Governor’s administration to provide security to minorities living in Valley so that they should not become safe target of the desperation of the terrorists.
The BJP leader also criticized the Congress leadership for unnecessarily blaming the Modi Government for the recent standoff with China and said it was Congress which was responsible for the crisis in Kashmir by handing over PoJK to Pakistan and compromising on the territory of the J&K which was handed over by Maharaja Hari Singh to India.
Moreover the dispute with China is since the Nehruvian time after China attacked India in 1962 due to the wrong policy of then Congress rulers at the Centre. He said it is unfortunate that the Congress leaders are now blaming the BJP for their blunders and failures.
