More educational institutions celebrate Diwali

JAMMU, Nov 10: More educational institutions today celebrated Diwali, the festival of lights, with great enthusiasm and religious fervor in their school premises.
The festival was celebrated today with religious fervor in Chenab College of Education. The students lit diyas and worshipped Goddess Lakshmi. Some students also spoke on the religious importance of the festival. All the students took oath to celebrate crackers-free Diwali for the safety of the environment. In the end, Principal, Kamaldeep Kour, distributed sweets among the staff and students.
A symposium was held today in Ramisht College of Education Basohli on the topic “Clean and Green Diwali”. 20 students of the college took part in this symposium. While expressing their views on the topic they emphasized on celebrating clean and green Diwali with saying no to fire-crackers.
The festival of lights was also celebrated by Jammu Sanskriti School Kathua. On the occasion, many competitions like Rangoli, Diya decoration and Thali decoration were organized. Lakshmi Poojan was performed in which Principal, Shuchita Gupta, staff and students participated. At last students were given away appreciation certificates and sweets were distributed amongst the children.
Sunrise Public School organized a Diwali Milan in Channi-Himmat, Jammu. More than 35 children participated in the function. They decorated the school with candles, sang songs and danced on the tunes of drum. The teachers present on the occasion were Nidhi, Harmeen Kour, Palvi Gandotra, Renu and Babita.
A function in connection with Diwali was also celebrated in Apple Kids International Pre-School, Gandhi Nagar, Jammu. Attired in colourful dresses, the little kids actively participated in making of colourful Rangolies and decoration of diyas with the help of their facilitators. In the end, sweets were distributed among the kids. Principal, Jagjeet wished everyone a very happy and peaceful Diwali.
DRS Kids, Bantalab, Jammu, celebrated Diwali with great enthusiasm in its premises. The theme of the function was ‘Environment Safe and Smoke Free Diwali’. The function started with making of colourful Rangolies, decorating hand-made diyas and performing Laxmi and Ganesh Poojan. While speaking, MD, Kapil Chib and Principal, Monika Sharma, explained the students the significance of the festival.
Nand Public Kindergarten, Durga Nagar, Jammu celebrated Diwali with full fervour in its school campus. The students presented various cultural items. Sujata Bhau, Principal of the school, while speaking on the occasion threw light on the significance of celebrating Diwali. Students also took part in various activities including Rangoli making and decoration of diyas. The students were administered pledge to celebrate eco-friendly Diwali.
Diwali was also celebrated in Kidzee and Mount Litera Zee School, Kathua. The program commenced with the pooja of Maa Lakshmi. The school was fully illuminated with lamps and diyas. The blooming stars of the school celebrated the occasion without exploding fire crackers. Mili R Sumbria, Principal of the school, advised the students to celebrate green and safe Diwali.
ITS computers celebrated Diwali with religious gaiety in the institute premises. The students made colorful diyas and decorated them. They sang hymns of Lord Ganesha and Goddess Lakshmi. Teachers distributed sweets and chocolate among the students. Center Head, Vikash Kumar Sharma advised the students to celebrate pollution free Diwali and say ‘No’ to crackers.
