JAMMU, Aug 16: More social, political organizations and trade unions have celebrated the Independence Day at different places in Jammu region yesterday by holding colorful functions and programmes.
Associated Chamber of Traders Federation (ACTF): On the occasion of 66th Independence Day yesterday a grand function was organised by ACTF at New Rehari here. The president of the Federation Yash Paul Gupta was the chief guest on the occasion who unfurled the National Flag.
Pradesh Congress: Senior Congress leader and former MP, Janak Raj Gupta hoisted the National Flag at various places on Independence Day yesterday. Besides the Party head Office at Shaheedi Chowk where the function was organised by DCC, he hoisted the flag at Rehari, Chowk Chabutra and other places.
Former Minister and Congress leader Manjeet Singh hoisted the National Flag at Vijaypur in Samba district on the occasion of Independence Day yesterday. The function was attended by senior Congress leaders also.
DCC Udhampur: A colorful function was organised by DCC Udhampur at Dhabar Park Udhampur where the flag was hoisted by senior Congress leader Brij Mohan Sharma.
Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP): The Independence Day was celebrated by ABVP J&K as Sankalap Divas yesterday. The activists of ABVP took out bike rallies in different parts of the state. In Jammu the Tricolor was hoisted at the Law School University of Jammu by Raghav Sharma and Vishal Khajuria. Later the ABVP activists took a bike rally to Parade.
At Ramban the bike rally was led by Anchal Singh, district president ABVP.
ABVP R S Pura Unit: A Tiranga rally was organised by RS Pura Unit of ABVP in connection with celebration of Independence Day yesterday in the town. On the occasion the students pledged to make India a corruption free country. The rally was led by Koushal Sudan and Vishal Mahajan. The rallyists were chanting patriotic songs en- route.
BJP Udhampur: Senior vice president of BJP Pawan Gupta hoisted the National Flag at Lal Chowk Gole Market Udhampur in presence of large number of people on the occasion of Independence Day yesterday.
Panthers Party: In connection with celebration of Independence Day a grand function was organised by Panthers Party at Slathia Chowk Udhampur yesterday where MLA and senior Party leader Balwant Singh Mankotia hoisted the National Flag.
Jammu Kashmir Democratic Front (JKDF): Chairman JKDF Anil Gupta hoisted National Flag at Party functions held at different places yesterday.
He hoisted the National Flag at the impressive functions organised by the Party at Rehari Colony, Bakshi Nagar, Top Sherkhanian, Kachi Chawni, Karan Nagar, Talab Tillo, Lakkarmandi, Rajpura, Old Rehari and Akhnoor.
Rural Wing JKDF: The Rural Wing of JKDF hoisted the National Flag at a function held at village Allora in Akhnoor. The flag was unfurled by Mulkraj Sharma in presence of other people and party leaders.
Sh. Badri Nath Shiv Mandir Prem Nagar New Plots: A grand function was organised by the Mandir Committee yesterday in connection with celebration of Independence Day in which Municipal Commissioner, JMC K L, Khajuria was the chief guest who hoisted the National Flag.
All J&K Scheduled Caste Welfare Association: An impressive function on the occasion of Independence Day was organised by the Association at B R Ambedkar Community Hall Janipur here to celebrate the Independence Day yesterday. R L Bharti president of the Association hoisted the National Flag on the occasion in presence of other members.
Mother India (NGO): A grand function was organized by the organization at R S Pura yesterday to celebrate the Independence Day under the presidentship of Raj Kumar Choudhary who hoisted the National Flag also.
Christian Biradari North Jammu: A colourful function was organised by the Biradari at Ustad Mohalla here in connection with the celebration of Independence Day yesterday. The function was presided by Variyan Teji president of the Biradari. Mr Anil Gupta president JKDF was the chief guest on the occasion who hoisted the National Flag.
Bharatiya Vidya Mandir: The students and staff members of Bharatiya Vidya Mandir Ambphalla held a grand function in connection with celebration of Independence Day along with prisoners of Central Jail at Kot Bhalwal Jammu. On the occasion the National Flag was hoisted by SSP Jail Rajni Sehgal and Dr Rajinder Thapa.
Village Raipur: The 66th Independence Day was celebrated with great pomp and show at Raipur Upper B Panchayat. The Tricolor was hoisted at Nardani Chowk by Sarpanch Kuljeet Singh Jamwal.
POWERGRID: The Independence Day was celebrated by Powergrid Transmission System–II Northern Region at Grid Bhawan, near Bahu Plaza here with gaiety & enthusiasm. S.K. Sharma, General Manager (Projects), NRTS –II, who was the chief guest on the occasion, unfurled the flag. K. R. Suri, General Manager (O&M), Powergrid Jammu, Senior officials, employees, their families and children were also present on the occasion.
In the similar function held at its Narwal Office K. R. Suri, General Manager (O&M & PSTCL) unfurled the National Flag, he in his address congratulated the employees and their families present there and appreciated their efforts in making Powergrid an esteemed origination and the No. 3 transmission company in World.
SOS Children’s Village: The Independence Day was celebrated with fervour and gaiety by the SOS Childeren’s Village Association (Balgaran) Channi Rama, Jammu yesterday. On the occasion the National Flag was hoisted by Y V Sharma president Chamber of Commerce. The children of the village presented a colorful programme on the occasion.
National Mazdoor Conference (NMC): The 66th Independence Day was celebrated with traditional gaiety by NMC. The conference held a function at Kali Jani where its president Subash Shatri hoisted the National Flag.
All J&K Christians Forum: On the occasion of Independence Day a colorful function was organised by the Forum at Ambphalla near District Jail. The National Tricolor was hoisted by Markes Gill State president of the Forum. The gathering also sung the National Anthem and Mr Gill distributed sweets among the gathering. The senior political leaders and prominent citizens attended the function.
Evacuees Property Tenants Welfare Society: The Society celebrated the Independence Day with great pomp and show under the chairmanship of Inder Mohinder Tar Singh who also hoisted the National Flag in presence of large number of members of the society.
Adhyatmic Dhwani Sangeet Sadan: The 66th Independence Day was celebrated by the Sadan here yesterday with gaiety and fervour. On the occasion Rajesh Verma hoisted the National Flag.
Central Mahajan Sabha Jammu: On the occasion of Independence Day a grand function was organised by Sabha at its complex here. On the occasion the National Flag was hoisted by president of the Sabha Vinod Gupta. The chief patron of the Sabha its patrons and other office bearers were among others who attended the function.
Panchayat Committee Jindrah: A grand function was organised by Panchayat Committee Jindrah in Dansal Block on the occasion of Independence Day yesterday under the leadership of Pritam Singh Jamwal, Sarpanch. Mr Jamwal who is also the district general secretary of Congress hoisted the National Flag on the occasion.
Sainik Cooperative Housing Building: The 66th Independence Day was celebrated at Sainik Colony with great pomp and show. On the occasion the statue of Shahid Major A S Jasrotia was garlanded. This was followed by hoisting of National Flag on Society Building by Col (retd) K S Padwal chairman of the Sainik Cooperative House Building Society Ltd.
Jasrotia Welfare Society: A grand function was organized at Main Chowk Butta Nagar by the Society yesterday in connection with celebration of 66th Independence Day. The Tricolor was hoisted under the chairmanship of B S Jasrotia.
Pir Mitha Dhakki Sarajan Joint Traders Association: On the occasion of Independence Day grand function was held at Pir Mitha Chowk yesterday by the Traders Association. Ram Paraksh Anad Ex-general secretary of the Association hoisted the National Flag on the occasion. A large number of people and members of the Association attended the function.
J&K PHE Daily Wagers Union: On the occasion of Independence Day the Union held a colorful programme at its Head office PHE Pumping Station Medical College Maheshpora, Bakshi Nagar. S Kamaljeet Singh Khalsa, senior vice president National Trade Union hoisted the Tricolor on the occasion.
