JAMMU, Oct 27: More political, social and other organizations celebrated “Accession Day” at different locations of the winter capital here today.
Jammu Province People’s Forum (JPPF), an amalgam of more than 50 social, commercial and other organizations celebrated Accession Day. On the occasion, Retd justice Pavitra Singh, president of the forum, threw light on importance of the day.
Narayan Singh, president, Rajput Sabha, Inderjeet Khajuria, president, Hotels and Lodges Association, Ved Prakash from Brahman Sabha, Jagdish Sharma, president, Sanatan Dharam Sabha, besides various others spoke on the occasion.
National Panthers Party, Young Panthers and NPSU also celebrated 65th anniversary of J&K Accession at various places including Butta Nagar, Janipur, Krishna Nagar, Talab Tillo, Akhnoor and Bishnah.
On the occasion, various Youth Panthers and NPSU leaders presented their views on the importance of the day.
Those who spoke were Pushpinder Singh Manhas, senior vice president, Young Panthers, Partap Singh Jamwal, president, NPSU, Yogesh Talwar, Aditya Hans, Sahil Mushtaq, Tara Chand, president, block Bhalwal, NPP, etc.
Accession Day was celebrated by Sanjeevani Sharda Kendra at Sharda Bhawan, Anand Nagar, Bohri.
A number of renowned poets including PL Shad, MK Santoshi, Jawahar Lal Bhat participated and recited their poems regarding National Integration.
Eminent columnist Daya Sagar, was the chief guest, while, Dr KL Choudhary, social activist, presided over the function.
Ramesh Sabherwal, YR Gupta from J&K People’s Forum, Prof ON Trisal, Dr MK Bharat and BL Maratha, were also present.
