More than 40K Amarnath pilgrims avail free langer facility of JCMS

JAMMU, Aug 2: More than 40,000 Amarnath pilgrims availed the free langer facility provided by Jammu Central Mahajan Sabha (JCMS) at Mahajan Bhawan, Shalamar Road, Jammu.

This was disclosed today by Romesh Chander Gupta (JCMS president) while addressing a press conference at the Mahajan Sabha. He said, “After 31 days, the registration counter for the Shri Amarnath pilgrims at Mahajan Bhawan, Shalamar Road (Jammu) has been closed, and throughout this period, JCMS organized langer sewa, providing meals, an air-conditioned hall, washrooms, and other amenities to pilgrims, regardless of caste, creed, or color”.
He informed that over 25,000 pilgrims were registered at the counter set up by the administration within the JCMS premises. Expressed satisfaction with the Yatra activities, Romesh Chander emphasized that no other activities were allowed during this period in the Sabha Bhawan and the Sabha did not charge the Government for using its complex.
Gupta highlighted the cooperation of civil and security forces, including SSB, J&K Police, Jai Shakti, PDD, Jammu Municipal Corporation, Health Department, Civil Defence, and Housing and Urban Development Department. He also acknowledged UCO Bank Raghunath Bazar Branch for providing free hygienic drinking water bottles to pilgrims.
The JCMS president also noted the contributions of Arun Gupta (president CCI) and his team, as well as Anil Gupta. Special mention was given to Subhash Gupta (Sabha vice president and media secretary).
Shiv Partap Gupta (senior vice president), Harinder Gupta (senior vice-president), CP Gupta (patron), Dr Mohan Lal Gupta (cashier), Subash Gupta and Balbir Gupta (Langer Incharges), Surinder Gupta, Atul Gupta, Kulbhushan Gupta, Prabhu Shah and Vipan Gupta (vice-presidents), Ram Saroup Gupta, Suresh Gupta, Rajan Gupta, Pawan Gupta, Ashok Gupta, Vijay Gupta, Satish Gupta, Darshan Gupta, Dinesh Gupta, Anil Masoorn (ex corporator), Arun Gupta, RC Gupta and Shanti Parkash Gupta were also present on the occasion.
