More than 50 fire incidents reported in Jammu

JAMMU, May 22: Around 50 fire incidents were reported from various areas of the Jammu province.
According to an official spokesman of Fire and Emergency Services Department, said that more than 50 fire incidents were reported from various parts of the Jammu province.
He said that a fire broke out in forest area of Narwal near Bachan Depot. On getting information, fire tenders including three from Gandhi Nagar Fire Station and one from City Fire Station were pressed into the service to douse the flames. After hectic efforts, the fire was brought under control, whereas, no casualty has been reported.
Fire also broke out in a scrap dealers shop at Gangyal area of the winter capital. Fire tenders and fire fighters were pressed into service and after hours long efforts the fire was brought under control. No casualty has been reported, while exact loss could not be ascertained, he added.
Meanwhile, four fire incidents were reported from various locations of tehsil Akhnoor. In Trotti area of the tehsil Akhnoor, fire broke out in which four animals were charred to death, whereas, fire iincident also took place in village Parda, which was broght under control. No casualty has been reported in the fire incident, while exact loss of the property could not be ascertained, he added. A minor fire broke in Ambran area near new bridge in tehsil Akhnoor near the farm house of Member of Parliament (MP) Madan Lal Sharma. The fire tenders were pressed into service and the fire was brought under control, he said.
One more fire incident took place in Village Palma of tehsil Akhnoor, the reports of which were awaited, he said, adding that some animals were charred to death in the incident as per initial reports came in, he added.
