JAMMU, Sept 22: On the second day of the National Conference on “Contemporary Issues in Business, Management and Finance” organised by Department of Business and Financial Studies, University of Kashmir, more than 80 research papers were presented.
The research papers were presented in 11 technical sessions focusing on the broader themes like Banking, Tourism, Business Ethics and Corporate Governance, Foreign Direct Investment, Organizational Behavior and Human Resource Management, Marketing and Accounting.
In his address Prof Nazir Ahmad Nazir, Head, Department of Business and Financial Studies, University of Kashmir, said the contemporary business milieu implies continuous efforts towards better understanding and coping with the challenges of the modern era.
Earlier, Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof Talat Ahmad, said that there are interesting challenges for the academia and the practitioners alike to take on and to make valuable contributions in a bid to make our organizations highly dynamic and competitive.
Sudhanshu Pandey, Principal Secretary, Power Development, who was the chief guest, in his inaugural address, said that business needs an attitude, perseverance and commitment to be successful.
In his keynote address, Prof Debi S Saini, noted Academician and Expert in Human Resource Management, said that now the people are going through new theories and industry people are reading seriously what academics are writing.
VC along with Sudhanshu Pandey and other dignitaries released a conference souvenior.
Dr Pervaiz A Shah, Assistant Prof, Business and Managing Studies, conducted the proceedings, while, Dr Riyaz A Ranayee, faculty, presented vote of thanks.
