More than hundred goats die due to outbreak of mysterious disease

RAMBAN, Jan 17: More than hundred goats of a farmer died due to outbreak of a mysterious disease in Ashari Nai Basti area of the district.
As per reports, more than hundred goats of a farmer Mohammad Haneeif, son of Abdul Rehman Malik, a resident of Halla, at present Ashari Nai Basti died due to mysterious disease in the past few days.
A team of experts from Sheep and Animal Husbandry Department Jammu visited the spot and collected samples from dead goats for asserting the real cause of mysterious death of goats.
Deputy Commissioner has also issued advisory in this regard.
District Sheep Husbandry Officer Ramban Dr Vikas Gupta confirmed the death of goats due to outbreak of mysterious disease.
However, he said no such report received from any other person in the district so far.
“Our teams are sent to various areas for investigation but no such report of death of goats due to outbreak of mysterious diseases has been received so far”, he informed.
He also confirmed about the collecting of samples of dead goats by special team, which arrived in Ramban district.
