SRINAGAR, Sept 30: Union Minister of State for Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Kailash Choudhary made a maiden visit to ICAR-Central Institute of Temperate Horticulture, Srinagar.
During his visit, he interacted with Scientists, staff and farmers. He was appraised about the new technologies developed by ICAR-CITH, Srinagar by Dr D B Singh, Director of the Institute.
Mr Choudhary praised the efforts made by ICAR-CITH to uplift the socio- economic status of farming community. The Minister also visited the experimental fields and Technology Park of the Institute. He emphasized on production and extension of quality planting material and seed to farmers of the area. He also advised youth of valley to take advantage of various schemes implemented by Government of India.
Besides others, the function was attended by Rajinder Singh Chib, Dr O C Sharma, Dr Anil Sharma and Dr Manoj Kumar.
