MoS Education inaugurates maiden Batches of IPM, E-MBA at IIM Jammu

JAMMU, Oct 8: IIM Jammu today welcomed its maiden batches of IPM (Integrated Program in Management) and E-MBA (Executive Master of Business Administration) through a virtual inauguration programme wherein Union Minister of State for Education, Dr Subhas Sarkar was the chief guest.
‘Reform, Perform and Transform’ were the words that the chief guest resonated with. He talked about the way multidisciplinary courses like IPM and E-MBA are one of a kind. Putting forth examples of Swami Vivekananda and Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, he wanted the students to always be compassionate and empathetic.
The inauguration began with an optimistic note through lamp lighting, followed by the students’ recital of the Saraswathi Vandana. After that, Dr Rashmi Ranjan Parida, Chairperson, Student Affairs, IIM Jammu, presented the batch profiles of both programs. Dr Nitin Upadhyay, Chairperson, IPM, and Dr Mahesh Gadekar, Chairperson, E-MBA, introduced the respective programs and talked about the vision with which these have been launched.
Prof B S Sahay, Director, IIM Jammu, welcomed the students of new programs into the IIM Jammu fraternity. He said that the programs encompassed both National Education Policy 2020 and the Prime Minister’s campaign of ‘Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao’. He juxtaposed the E-MBA cohort with the IPM students and expected the former to mentor the latter. He concluded his speech by urging the students to be ethical leaders who do their bit in building the nation.
The presidential address was delivered by Dr Milind Kamble, Chairman, BoG, IIM Jammu. Citing the extensive research, academic rigour, and international collaborations of the Institute, he spoke about the progress of IIM Jammu at length. He stated that the students should utilize the conducive environment and tread on the path of excellence.
Anil Agarwal, Chairman, Cosmos Group, and R R Bhatnagar, Advisor to the Lt Governor, J&K, graced the ceremony as the guests of honour.
IPM has been dominated by the female candidates with 85 percent of the seats procured by girl candidates. The students from IPM are from all-over India with Commerce, Science (medical and non-medical), and Arts and Humanities background. On the other hand, E-MBA has 87 percent males and 13 percent female candidates with an average experience 10.3 years.
