MoS Home, DGP, Legislators call on Governor

SRINAGAR, June 11: Sajjad Ahmad Kichloo, Minister of State for Home and Ashok Prasad, Director General of Police called on Governor, N N Vohra at Raj Bhavan here today.
During their one and half hour long meeting, the Governor, Mr Kichloo and the Director General of Police discussed issues relating to the internal security management. Other matters discussed in the meeting included security and traffic arrangements for the forthcoming Shri Amarnathji Yatra.
Surjit Singh Slathia, Member of the State Legislative Assembly also called on Mr Vohra and discussed various matters concerning the implementation of socio-economic development schemes and programmes and other issues relating to the rapid economic advancement of the State.
Another Legislator, Sheikh Ghulam Rasool (MLC) discussed with Governor several important matters relating to the advancement of the people’s welfare and development of the State, particularly focusing on issues relating to the functioning of the higher education sector and the need for enhancing the productivity of the agriculture sector.
Raja Aijaz Ali, former Inspector General of Police also called on Mr Vohra and discussed various problems and development needs of the people of the border areas of Uri and the measures required for securing rapid economic advancement of this area.
Khawaja Bashir Ahmad, former Commissioner, Commercial Taxes, who also met the Governor discussed several important issues relating to the assessment and collection of various taxes which are payable in the State. They also discussed the approaches towards the mobilization of larger resources and the preparatory work required to be done before the Goods and Services Tax is enforced in the State.
