MoS R&B visits R S Pura, Jammu East areas

JAMMU, Arp 7: Minister of State for Revenue and Public Works Department  Sunil Kumar Sharma today conducted an extensive tour of R. S Pura Sub-Division to assess the damages to crops due to heavy rains and hailstorm at Badyal Brahmna, Jassore, Mangral, Sangral, Abdullian, Puro Bhana, Chak Khana, Chak Agra, Chatha Farm, Kullian, Langriali, Bera, Bega, Shahpur Tonkli and Partap Singh Pura.
MLA, R S Pura Dr. Gagan Bhagat, besides other senior officers of Agriculture and PWD Departments accompanied the Minister.
The Minister interacted with the farmers, Sarpanchs and Panchs of the area who gave a detailed account of extensive damage to wheat, mustard, barseem and vegetable crops due to prolonged stagnation of rain water in the fields and further anticipated damage to the roots of crops as the weather gets clear and temperature soars up.
The Minister told the farmers that he had issued directions to the field functionaries to conduct survey of each village by organizing meetings with the farmers so that a detailed report of crop damages is prepared with immediate effect.
During tour to R S Pura Sub-Division, several deputations of the area met the Minister and put forth their genuine problems included upgradation of R. S Pura main bazaar road and renovation of dilapidated lanes and drains.
The Minister directed the accompanied PWD engineers to immediately start the renovation works of the roads, lanes and drains so that general masses do not face any inconvenience. He asked them to use quality material on development projects.
He urged the people to cooperate with executing agencies in completing the renovations works in the subdivision within stipulated time frame.
Later, the Minister conducted extensive tour of Jammu East Constituency.
Senior BJP leader and MLA Jammu East Rajesh Gupta accompanied the MoS during the tour.
Sunil alongwith MLA Jammu East visited City Chowk, Kanak Mandi, Rajendra Bazaar, Shaheedi Chowk and various other markets in the constituency.
Rajesh Gupta  apprised the Minister about the dilapidated roads’ edifice which has become a major issue of inconvenience to the residents of the area besides numerous tourists who visit this temple city.
Sunil Sharma assured the MLA that work on construction of roads will be started after improvement in weather.
