Mothers Mela organized by St Peter’s Catholic Church

JAMMU, Nov 15: To commemorate the blessings received during the year through St Mary–the Mother of Jesus, St Peter’s Catholic Church organized Mothers Mela here today.
On the occasion, Rev Fr Jose Vadakkel, the priest incharge offered special prayers in the Church for the success of the Mela.
MLA Jammu East Rajesh Gupta, who was the chief guest on the occasion, inaugurated the event by cutting the ribbon.
While speaking, Gupta Rajesh Gupta stressed upon the need to remain united to oust the divisive forces from the society. He impressed upon the public that the development activities undertaken by the Government for the Jammu region in general and his constituency in particular will be carried out in a time bound manner so that no one will remain deprived of basic amenities and infrastructure.
“Working for the development of humanity is my agenda”, he said, adding that such events will surely bring harmony and love between different sections of the society.
Later, Rajesh Gupta visited many stalls installed by the organizers and enjoyed some games and appreciated the remarkable works put up by the Christians in general.
It was a real attraction to see a number of stalls put up for food, games, lucky dip, merry go round and tambola, in which people from different localities and walks of life participated.
Victor Sotra promised all support for all the developmental activities undertaken by the Government.
The main organizers of the event were Fr Shaiju Thomas, Br Isaac, Rohit, Thomas Sotra, Jai Talter, Seraphin Duglas, Sumit, Neeraj, Sapna, Sunita, Margret, Sujata and Mr Greatson.
