Motorcyclist arrested with illicit liquor pouches

SAMBA, Nov 14: Police arrested a motorcyclist along with large quantity of illicit liquor pouches.
As per police sources, based on reliable information, a team from Sidco police post laid a naka and signaled a motorcyclist bearing registration number JK02AC-9540 to stop for checking.
On seeing police cops, the motorcyclist escaped from the spot. Stinking something fishy, the cops chased and intercepted the bike near some distance from the naka point.
During checking, police recovered 65 pouches of illicit liquor and arrested the motorcyclist, who has been identified as Paramjeet, son of Gopal Dass, a resident of Shah Balore, District Samba.
The accused was carrying the illicit liquor pouches to his native village for selling among the people for illegitimate profits.
A case under FIR Number 180/18 under Section 48-A Excise Act has been registered at Samba police station and investigation started.
Police team led by Incharge Sidco police post SI Sunil Dutt made the arrest under the supervision of SHO Samba Inspector Sanjeev Chib and DySP Headquarters Samba Varinder Singh.
