JAMMU, Aug 18: Pouni Chak police under ‘Operation Amrit’ arrested a motorcyclist and recovered large quantity of illicit liquor from his possession.
As per police sources, on specific information, a team from Pouni Chak Police Post laid a naka and intercepted a motorcycle.
During checking, police recovered 58 small bottles of illicit liquor from the possession of the rider and arrested him.
The arrested person has been identified as Ram Dass, son of Badi Ram, a resident of Kanachack. He was carrying the illicit liquor bottles to his native area for selling among the masses to make illegitimate profits.
A case under FIR Number 294/18 under Section 48-A Excise Act has been registered at Domana Police Station and investigation started.
Police team led by Incharge Pouni Chak Police Post SI Sumit Magotra and assisted by ASI Showkat made the arrest under the supervision of SHO Domana Inspector Rajeshwar Singh, SDPO Domana Sandeep Gupta, SP Rural Dushyant Sharma and SSP Jammu Vivek Gupta.
