Motorcyclist dies in road mishap

UDHAMPUR, June 15: A motorcyclist was killed and his pillion rider got injured when their bike collided with a truck near Bhim Singh College of Education here today.
The deceased was identified as Rakesh Kumar (24), son of Hans Raj of Battal Ballian Udhampur. The injured, namely Vinod Kumar (24), son of Subash has been referred to GMC Hospital Jammu in view of his critical condition.
The accident took place when a truck bearing registration number  JK02AJ-4071 hit  the  Motorcycle JK14C-5943 resulting into critical injuries to the riders around 11:45 am this  morning.
Police and locals rushed the injured to District Hospital Udhampur where doctors declared Rakesh Kumar as brought dead and referred Vinod to GMC Jammu.
Meanwhile, three persons were injured in separate road mishaps, here today.
One Subash, son of Ishwari Prasad of Sailan Talab was injured when his motorcycle collided with a Tavera car near T Morh.
Gyatri Devi, wife of Ram Krishan of Battal Ballian was injured after her scooty collided with a motorcycle near Gole Market while a pedestrian namely Naveen, son of Hans Raj of Round Mail was hit by a minibus while walking on the roadside.
