KATHUA, May 19: A middle aged person was killed and four others were seriously injured in a road accident that took place near Lakhanpur on Jammu-Pathankot National Highway today.
The accident took place when a car bearing Registration Number JK02CG 5833 whose tyre busted hit a motorcycle and turned turtle on the road. It was badly damaged. The motorcyclist died on the spot and four inmates of car were seriously injured.
The deceased was identified as Surjit Singh, 60, son of Parkash Chand resident of Ward Number 10, Kathua.
The injured persons were identified as Anupam Singh, son of Karan Singh and Deepak Sharma son of Suraj Sharma both residents of Jourian and Amandeep, son of Pawan Sharma and Ajay Sharma, son of Satish Kumar. They were shifted to GMC Kathua. A police team reached on spot and shifted the body to mortuary of GMC Kathua for postmartum.
The Lakhanpur police has registered a case under relevant sections of the law and started investigation.
