KATHUA, Feb 14: A biker died and the pillion rider sustained serious injuries in a road accident in Kathua District today.
The accident happened near the CTM on the National Highway when an ill-fated motorcycle (JK21-1057) collided with a truck (PB11BD-9866), resulting in serious injuries to two persons—the biker and the pillion rider, a police official said.
They were taken to a hospital where one of them succumbed to his injuries, he said.
Police identified the deceased youth as Ranjit Singh son of Pritam Singh of Rattanpur, Kootah and the injured youth as Lovely son of Rajinder Kumar of Rattanpur, Kootah.
While a case under the relevant sections of the law has been registered at Police Station Kathua police have started further investigations into the matter.
