UDHAMPUR, Mar 11: A motorcyclist died while pillion rider was injured when the two -wheeler was hit by a passenger bus at Garnai Chowk on the National Highway, here today.
According to the police report, the motorcycle (Bullet), bearing registration number JK08E-9503 was on its way from Udhampur to Jammu when it rammed into rear side of the passenger bus (JK14H-0079).
Locals shifted both the injured to PHC Tikri where doctors referred one of them to Narayana Hospital in view of his serious condition. However, he succumbed to his injuries on way to the Narayana Hospital.
The deceased has been identified as Rakshat Dhar, son of Kamal Kumar, resident of Jib, Rehmbal while the injured pillion rider was identified as Bajanpreet Singh, son of Surjeet Singh of Garnai Rehmbal.
The police after completion of all the formalities and postmortem handed over the body of Rakshat Dhar to family members while a case has been registered in this connection at Rehambal Police Station.
