REASI, Nov 12: A young motorcyclist was knocked to death by a truck at Kadmal near Shani Mandir, Katra, here this morning.
The deceased was identified as Sunil Kumar, age 26 years, son of Kartar Chand, resident of Chapaano, district Reasi. He was riding a bike bearing Registration Number JK02BG-2440, which was hit by a speeding truck JK02AC-6922 from rear side resulting into his death on the spot.
The accident took place this morning when the deceased was on way towards Jammu. Driver of the truck fled from the scene. Later, the dead body was shifted to CHC Katra for postmortem and other legal formalities.
Katra Police has registered the case and started investigation in this regard.
Meanwhile, an unidentified young man was found dead in Balni Nallah at Katra today. Police shifted the dead body to CHC Katra for identification and other legal formalities.
Apparent cause of death could not be ascertained while a case has been registered in this connection at Police Station Katra.
