JAMMU, Dec 15: Gharota police under ‘Operation Sanjeevani’ nabbed a motorcyclist and recovered around 500 grams cannabis (charas) from his possession.
As per police sources, based on reliable information, a team from Gharota police station laid a naka and intercepted a motorcycle bearing registration number JK02BL-3990.
During checking, police recovered around 500 grams of cannabis from the possession of the motorcyclist and arrested him on the spot.
The accused has been identified as Mohammad Rafiq, son of Rashid Ahmed, a resident of Masjid Mohallah, Bhalwal.
A case under FIR Number 83/16 under Section 8/20 Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act has been registered at Gharota police station and investigation started.
Police team led by SHO Gharota SI Suchinder Pal Singh made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO Akhnoor Gurvinder Pal Singh and SP Rural Arun Gupta.
