MoU signed between DDC Bari Brahmana, IPCA on Solid Waste Management

JAMMU, Oct 20: A memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed between Dogra Degree College (DDC) Bari Brahaman and Indian Pollution Control Association (IPCA) on the Solid and Plastic Waste Management.
In this regard a function was organised here today, in which the chief guest was Dr. Bela Thakur, Principal Dogra Degree College and the Ranvir Singh, Regional Director, Indian Pollution Control Association was the special guest.
The programme started with the lighting of the lamp by the chief guest, special guest and the other dignitaries.
Speaking on the occasion, Kanchan Dubey, Coordinator IQAC, DDC, welcomed the guests, dignitaries, staff and the students to the event and appreciated their effort to do such programme for the environmental awareness and to resolve the environmental issues.
Principal of the college Dr. Bela Thakur, in her address appreciated the efforts and spirit of Eco-Warrior Club and UBA Cell for organizing such an event to step forward for the conservation and protection of environment.
Ranvir Singh, Regional Manager, IPCA made the staff, students and the audience aware of the various issues related to plastic waste and its management. He made the students aware about IPCA and its role in eradication of certain issues related to environment and especially the solid waste management and gave a detailed presentation on plastic, types of plastic, its role in the environmental pollution and how it effects the environment and the people.
The vote of thanks was proposed by Palak Gupta, Convenor, Eco- Warrior Club.
