JAMMU, May 2: The New India Assurance Corporation Ltd (NIACL) and Grameen Bank, Rail Head Complex, Jammu, have entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for protection coverage of Pradhan Mantri Bima Suraksha Youjna (PMBSY).
The PMBSY was announced for the public during the budget presentation by the Finance Minister of India earlier.
The said MoU was entered into between Suman Gupta, Senior Divisional Manager and Vagish Chander Sharma, the Chairperson of Grameen Bank.
Anita Sharma, Senior Manager of Grameen Bank and Geeta Bhardwaj Branch Manager, New India Assurance Company Ltd, Bari Brahmana, were also present.
The signing of MoU is a step forward in providing a succor to the general masses, especially the weaker section of the society. The sum insured for each individual under the scheme would be Rs 2 lakh in personal accident.
